About Pittsburgh Sound + Image
Pittsburgh Sound + Image formed as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in 2021 with the goal to be the city’s accessible film and video archives/theater. It is our mission to introduce the region to artists – both global and local – who otherwise do not currently have outlets in Pittsburgh. Today we conduct film screenings and preservation, and operate pghcinema.com, which tracks and promotes all organizations hosting film events citywide. Meet the team:
Steven Haines, Director of Programming
Steven is a motion picture archivist and film historian with a passion for promoting marginalized media forms and stories. He is currently pursuing an MLIS degree, with a focus on archives, from the University of Pittsburgh.
Steve Felix, Executive Director
Steve is co-founder of The Nightlight, a full-time nonprofit cinema in downtown Akron, Ohio, which has served over 100,000 patrons since 2014. He has backgrounds in film, finance, and computer science.
Hannah Kinney-Kobre, Marketing and Publicity Manager
Hannah is sometimes writer and full-time communications professional, currently working as Digital Editorial Coordinator at Pittsburgh City Paper. She’s written film criticism in the past for DigBoston, Another Gaze: A Feminist Film Journal, and most recently Pittsburgh City Paper.
